100 Years Rule cruel to animals

Drove from Dubbo to Phillip Island to visit family for Xmas, returning through 44°C heat. Not every animal had the luxury of a single tree in their paddock like this lucky lot. Many didn't. Madness. Losses of animals, the lost condition of the survivors... all avoidable.  Shane Joyce, the 2012 Carbon Cocky Of The Year proved he could increase profits 40% by devoting 40% of his paddocks to trees. The Carbon Farming Initiative can pay farmers to plant trees but no farmer will sign a contract for 100 years - the span of three generations of a farm family.
